LINK With People Nearby is a social network application for Android. It works a lot like other social platforms that allow different forms of remote communication between its users, including the sharing of text messages, pictures, videos and so on. To achieve this, LINK allows users to create and personalize their own profile pages.
There is one key difference between LINK and social platforms like Facebook, however: In order to help strengthen local communities and promote real-life encounters, the app allows users to filter search results by distance. What's more, it allows the creation of communities by taking into account factors like physical proximity and common interests.
Without a doubt, this is an interesting concept, and it's one that deserves more exploration in the future. Unfortunately, however, LINK With People Nearby, in its current state, is a bit too barebones and basic to be able to fully execute this concept.
This lack of development shows in other places as well. As a matter of fact, all its other functions are very reminiscent of other social media platforms such as the aforementioned Facebook, except simpler and more straightforward.
At any rate, though, users who only want to use a social media site as a platform for developing real-world relationships will not be too sad about the lack of immersion that LINK has to offer.
